Magraf Racing Has Successful Racing Debut at Fontana

October 31, 2004 (Fontana, CA)-The No. 31 Margraf Racing/Nolte Associates Pontiac-Riley came to the 2004 Grand AM finale at the California Speedway with two objectives-show the level of preparation/professionalism and finish the race with out any problems-mission accomplished on both counts.

" Our 2005 plan was to run the 2004 season finale at Fontana. Being a West Coast-based team, it was easy for us to come here. We wanted to showcase our car and team. Everything about this race weekend exceeded our expectations. The Pontiac-Riley ran flawlessly throughout the weekend and our engineering staff kept improving the car in each session. Although we were running a 5.0 liter Pontiac and everyone else had the 5.4 liter motor, once we got to the infield we were consistently turning split times among the leaders. Mike Borkowski did an awesome job. This weekend validated that we can run up front."

Daytona prototype veteran Mike Borkowski was impressed with the Margraf crew. "For a first time effort, everything went smoothly. The engineering staff gave me the best handling Daytona Prototype I've ever experienced. The car ran great and everyone had chance to learn," said Borkowski.

Team owner and co-driver George Nolte was ecstatic with the team's showing. "This was my first race of the year. It was amazing to come into this series and be immediately made to feel welcome. California Speedway is a great facility and I learned a ton. I can't wait for next year."

Margraf Racing is based in Auburn, CA and will contest the entire 2005 Grand Am Daytona Prototype Series with its No. 31 Pontiac-Riley Mark 11. Sponsorship comes from Nolte and Associates, one of western United States largest civil engineering firms with offices in California, Colorado, Utah and Mexico.
